Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross

Prerequisites: Bronze Medallion, Standard First Aid with CPR C, 14 years of age and ability to swim 400 m in 11 minutes using a combination of the following swim strokes – front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke or sidestroke.
Pricing: $232.00 (includes course materials and LSS candidate fee )
Bronze Cross is the Lifesaving Society's Assistant Lifeguard Award. Bronze Cross expands lifesaving skills with a focus on teamwork, and begins the transition from lifesaver to lifeguard. Principles and techniques for active supervision of aquatic facilities are introduced and put into practice n the role of Assistant Lifeguard.

Course Schedule: Friday June 17th 5-9pm, Saturday June 18th 9-5pm, Sunday June 19th 9-5pm, Friday June 24th 5-9pm, Saturday June 25th 9-5pm and Sunday June 26th 9-5pm
The Lifesaving Society’s National Lifeguard certification builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge, fitness, judgment and values taught in the prerequisite Lifesaving Society lifesaving certifications.
Recognized as the standard for lifeguards in Canada, National Lifeguard training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard.
The primary role of the National Lifeguard is the prevention of emergency situations and the timely and effective resolution of emergencies. The National Lifeguard certification prepares lifeguards to fulfill this role as professional facilitators of safe, enjoyable aquatics.
Candidates are required to attend 100% of the course and will be expected to demonstrate swim skills, water rescues and first aid.
